For Noosa Gnocchi’s owner Filip Gubicza, life revolves around great food.
“I love food. Good healthy food is essential. What we put in our bodies affects how we feel, how we fight off disease, how we grow physically and spiritually. When you put good things in, the outcome will be good, too.
“Eating is a holistic experience If you know where your food comes from and it’s been looked after with love. It’s about nourishing people and making it easy for them to cook a nice meal, so they can spend more time doing what they love.
“Not everyone likes to cook, but they still love great food. That’s where I’m happy to help, because I love to cook.”
Born in Sweden to Hungarian parents, Filip has always loved cooking. He baked his first loaf of bread at age six. At 20, he left Sweden to backpack around the world, earning a living working in cafes and restaurants. He found that cooking came naturally, and he developed his skills through hard work and experience.
Filip eventually made his way to Australia, where he started making gnocchi at Rococo’s in Noosa. He quickly discovered what a meticulous, messy and skilled process it was. This inspired the idea to start a business that would free up chefs’ time and energy, while allowing them to serve hand-crafted, local, mouth-watering gnocchi.
Filip started Noosa Gnocchi in 2013 with a hand peeler and masher, spending the last of his hard-earned savings on a vacuum sealer machine.
Now, he has a hand-picked team of staff working from Noosa Gnocchi’s commercial kitchen in Rene St, Noosaville. Noosa Gnocchi is available at many of Noosa’s best restaurants, food retailers
